Products Description
1.4539 Stainless Steel is one of the best acid-resistant austenitic grades that is an alternative to 1.4547 and 1.4529 materials. Comparable corrosion resistance up to 904L has duplex steels with a ferritic-austenitic structure of 1.4462 / X2CrNiMoN22-5-3 / UNS S31803 and S32205, but their increased mechanical properties may in certain situations limit the use of materials, f.ex. lower plasticity. In some applications, the austenite structure is irreplaceable.
Mechanical and physical properties of 1.4539, X1NiCrMoCu25-20-5, AISI 904L at room temperature:
- Tensile strength, Rm = 530 - 570 MPa
- Yield point, Rp0,2: >230 MPa
- Elongation, A: >35%
- Modulus of elasticity,E: 195 GPa
- Heat capacity, cp20℃= 450 J * kg-1 * K-1
- Heat conductivity, λ: 12 W * m-1 * K-1
- Linear Expansion Factor, α20℃=15,8 * 10-6 K-1
- Specific resistance: 1 Ω * mm2/m
- Hardness: <230 HB

1.4539 Stainless Steel Applications
Chemical plant, oil refinery, petrochemical plants, bleaching tanks for the paper industry, combustion gas desulfurisation plants, application in sea water, sulphuric and phosphoric acid. Due to the low C-content, the resistance to intergranular corrosion is also guaranteed in the welded condition.
