Products Description

1.2842 steel is a kind of low alloy tool steel with better comprehensive mechanical properties than carbon tool steel. It is the only economic steel without Ni and Cr elements in alloy tool steel. It has high hardness and wear resistance. During quenching,the deformation is small and the hardenability is good. Because there is a certain amount of vanadium in the steel, the grain is refined and the superheat sensitivity of the steel is reduced. At the same time, the carbides are smaller and evenly distributed.

1.2842 Steel Properties

1.2842 tool steel is cold work die steel. The steel is easy to forge, annealing, good process ability, toughness, harden ability is low, with a strong tendency to suppress heat sensitivity and gelatinous precipitation of carbides in China has been widely used. The steel compared to carbon tool steel, and has good hardness and wear resistance, good punching capacity, quenching deformation is small, requiring hardness 63HRC.

1.2842 steel applications:

①Suitable for making small stamping die with thickness less than 6mm

②For making blanking die parts with material thickness less than 3mm,the recommended hardness is 58 ~ 62HRC when making convex die and 60 ~ 64HRC when making concave die.
